Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina, BVI Hosts Blue Marlin Invitational
BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS (August 10, 2016) – This season, saltwater sportsmen can experience the August full moon in private island luxury at the Blue Marlin Invitational Aug. 14-17, 2016 on Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina.
Closer to the BVI fishing grounds from an exquisite, protected harbor, this invitational is the crème de la crème of blue marlin bliss. In response to several billfish tournament team, owner and captain requests, Captain Skip Smith and Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina – an exquisite, luxury resort located on the very private Scrub Island in the British Virgin Islands – have collaborated to present blue marlin enthusiasts a new venue in the territory.
Smith hopes to attract not only the U.S.-based teams who take advantage of the hot North Drop bite during the summer full moons, but to open doors to many Virgin Islands, Puerto Rican and Dominican teams as well. With its close proximity to the fishing grounds – and Anegada – this tournament is a breath of fresh air and sure to be a success.
