Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina Offers Three-, Five- and Seven-Day Sailing Packages in Partnership with Colgate Offshore Sailing School

BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS – Beginning April 1, Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina – the British Virgin Islands’ newest luxury private-island resort – will be offering three-, five- and seven-day Sailing Packages, giving guests an adventurous new experiential element for their ultimate British Virgin Islands getaway. The packages are made possible through a partnership with Fort Myers, Fla. -based Colgate Offshore Sailing School, a globally-recognized leader in comprehensive sailing instruction. To celebrate Colgate’s 50th anniversary, Scrub Island Resort will also offer a $50 resort credit to be used for any of the restaurant outlets or spa services with each sailing package booked.

First-time sailors or guests wanting to sharpen their sailing skills have several learning vacation options at Scrub Island Resort, including Learn to Sail, Performance Sailing, Fast Track to Cruising and Bareboat Cruising courses. All rates quoted are per person, double occupancy.

The five-day Learn to Sail course taught in half-day sessions starts at $2,525* including six nights’ accommodations, taxes and resort fee per person. Participants arrive Sunday and depart the following Saturday. Morning and afternoon on-water classes alternate throughout the week, which allows guests to fully enjoy other amenities at the private island resort, including the award-winning Ixora Spa, renowned restaurants and bars, and unlimited use of sea kayaks and stand up paddleboards.

With a more fast-paced curriculum, the three-day Learn to Sail course starts at $2,115* including four nights’ accommodations, taxes and resort fee per person. Participants arrive Friday and depart Monday.

Designed for guests who are proficient at sailing and interested in racing daysailers, the Performance Sailing course over five half-days starts at $2,525* including six nights’ accommodations, taxes and resort fee per person. The Performance Sailing and Learn to Sail courses operate on the same schedules, providing an opportunity for couples and family members of different skill levels to enjoy this learning vacation together. Whether taking the Learn to Sail or Performance Sailing course, free time can be spent together lounging by the resort’s four-tiered infinity pool with a Caribbean cocktail from the swim-up bar, or strolling on one of the island’s three pristine beaches.

Guests can also earn their bareboat cruising certification during their stay at Scrub Island Resort with Offshore Sailing School’s exclusive Fast Track to Cruising™ course over seven days. Guests arrive on Friday and begin with two days of the Learn to Sail course on Saturday and Sunday, after which they begin the five-day Bareboat Cruising course Monday morning. This package starts at $5,135* including eight nights’ accommodations, taxes and resort fee per person. Upon successful course completion participants will be certified to charter a sailboat up to 50’ in familiar cruising grounds.

Sailors who already have basic sailing knowledge may take the Bareboat Cruising Preparation course on the same schedule as the five-day Learn to Sail and Performance Sailing courses, starting at $3630 including six nights’ accommodations, taxes and resort fee per person.

For and of the sailing courses, guests can add room nights before or after their sailing experience to further enjoy the BVI.
