BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS – Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina – the newest luxury private-island resort in the British Virgin Islands – was ranked No. one in the BVI and No. 17 in the Caribbean on Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Hotels in the Caribbean, Bermuda and Bahamas list.

The rankings are determined from the results of a reader questionnaire developed by the editors of Travel + Leisure which judges hotels, cities, islands, airlines, tour companies, spas and more. Respondents evaluated hotels on six characteristics, rooms/facilities, location, service, restaurants/food and value and whether it is best for business, families, romance, bars/nightlife or design. Each characteristic is rated on a five-point scale of excellent, above average, average, below average and poor. Required component ratings were then averaged, creating an overall score.
